I have been to this museum twice. This museum has a unique collection of drift wood sculptures with artistic value located in a very scenic village, Kumarakom. The owner has taken every effort to maintain this as a distinctive museum and give us a surprise about the magic of nature.

A unique museum! Definitely worth visiting if you find yourself in Kumarakom. Mrs Raji takes time to thoroughly explain to visitors the story and meaning of the exhibits and her enthusiasm about her work captures your interest and makes the visit an authentic experience.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Driftwood Museum. The museum curator has put together an amazing collection of various kinds of driftwood sculptures, collected over an extended period from the Andaman island after mini-tsunamis washed them ashore, which were a sight to behold. Truly unique collection!

This museum is something really unique which the owner has actually put together in a singular effort. She has collected the fossilized drift woods and through her creative vision she has been able to spot the the outlines of various physical aspects around us (animals, birds, human faces, other creatures). The drift wood pieces have acquired those shapes just by... More

Mrs. Raji's collection of rare driftwood art pieces collected from the Andaman islands is a unique concept. Raji herself takes you around to see some of her prized collections. A must see destination for tourists visiting Kerala backwaters.

A lady's personal passion of visualizing and converting drift wood (unearthed from unknown small tsunamis in the Andaman island region) is just amazing. It is a must see at Kumarakom. Unfortunate that the Supreme Court directive post the 2004 tsunami does not allow her to continue her scavenging. Proud to be Indian.

The lady who runs this makes this an experience worth dropping in on! It is very near to kumarakom rather than kottayam, so if your driving by then drop in. She has gathered lots of pieces of drift wood which she has interpreted into animals and done some poems about!
