Just about 65KMs/<2 hours away, Vagamon is the first choice for a day picnic while in Kottayam. Best route is Kottayam - Ettumanoor - Pala - Erattupetta - Teekoy - Vagamon. All good roads till Erattupetta and then slightly narrower and winding roads which need some caution while driving. Vagamon can be flooded with tourists during holidays and weekends but... More

The drive to Vagamon is exhausting. Narrow roads, heavy traffic. Drying vegetation all around. Over exploited Ghats landscape. The earth seems to have got tired of human intervention? If you have seen other evergreen parts of the western Ghats, better avoid a trip to Vagamon. Otherwise you would be devastated to see the adverse impact of human greed. And except... More

Its not so popular in the international tourist sectors yet, it offers great getaways for people who love nature. Amazing waterfalls, trekking spots etc. Do your bookings early as there limited good properties for families.
