Its a beautiful lake in the middle of a amazing tiger reserve. Took the 6:30 am boating session, most preferred for animal spotting. Did spot for birds, wiild bison, wild boar, deer and black monkeys. Spotting a tiger is quite impossible.

We went for boating twice during our stay - was wonderful and we managed to see many animals, such as elephants, Gaurs, Langurs, sambar deer, turtles, wild boars.

Getting in and out of here is pretty tricky and the boat ride is not even assured.. you need to park ur vehicle and must take a bus to reach this lake which is in middle of periyar sanctuary... Then stand in a long queue...More

The visit to the lake was only restricted to viewing and not boating as because Boating was not allowed for shallow water. There is a nice souvenir shop near the boat jetty that sells t-shirt, caps, whisky glasses with Tiger Reserve embossed on it etc...More

I think it would be absolutely safe because the boats are not the actual boats instead it's more like a small ferry sorts accomodating only the counted number of passengers. you do get a safety instructor plus the boat moves... More

Boat jetty is inside periyar reserve. Vehicle can go up to boat jetty. From car park the jetty is just 5 mts walk only. Moreover there all roads go to boat jetty only. Boat jetty is visible also from distance
