This museum is located in the same complex were Trivandrum Zoo is located. Not much of information to see inside the museum. But the location outside the museum is a good landscaped grenery which one can enjoy in the evening. Hence plan your visit in evenings. But museum closes at 4.30pm , Note to reach before that.

The indo-saracenic building was quite fascinating, band the museum contents included some nice things. But they need a proper curator. Items were not well displayed or explained, and important pieces jammed next to things not of museum quality.

Uncharacteristic south Indian architecture, however interesting, and nicely fitting in the surrounding park, which is worth a visit in itself, populated as it is by majestic trees and finely manicured lawns. The Museum is fully packed with objects, of various provenance, some more explanation tables for the visitors would definitely improve the comprehension of their historic and artistic significance. The building itself is beautiful with lovely carvings. There are some very nice pieces in this museum and it is located in a pleasant park where you can sit and relax. However, there aren't a lot of exhibits. I went later in the day and would suggest that you visit earlier and go to the natural history museum and/or zoo... More

The place is quite big and divided in different section of the park, you can buy the tickets for each of the places u want to visit, individually. My favorite was the paintings section, which has very big collection of canvas & oil paintings. Note: it a large open area/park walk from one place to another could be tiring specially... More

Dusty and eclectic, the displays didn't make much sense to me. The building itself is more attractive. Instead, I recommend the Natural History Museum nearby, which has much more character! Also, the staff were far more welcoming.

Seeing the Hindu chariot up close was worth the price of admission. The sculptures were fantastic. The displays in glass cases looked lonely and tatty. Really needs a good curator to take care of those details, but the art was great. It does not take long to go through - 1 hour is plenty.
