Cave 16, Kailasa temple is simply seen to be believed. The sheer architectural beauty and the 5000 odd statues with intricate carvings are amazing. That the temple was built in 8th century speaks volumes of the skill set of our ancestors.

The caves are just magnificent and its so hard to imagine these were carved out of mountains centuries ago. There are about 34 caves and its extremely difficult to cover all of them, as they are spread across more than 2kms end to end. Do...More

The Ellora caves certainly deserve to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves are much closer to Aurangabad than the Ajanta Caves . The Ellora caves are very interesting and a good guide can point out the note-worthy ones such as one with...More

It is just amazing and totally unbelievable how the entire mountain has been cut to make the entire temple complex out of a single rock. Imagine an entire temple complex without any joint cut out of a single mountain rock.

This was just amazing and you have to see it to appreciate it. Will be recommending to everyone. The temples carved into the rock are a feat I cannot imagine being done all that time ago. What a treasure.

I don't think there is such word to explain the scenic beauty along with historical values! Am still wondering how the ancient people did manage to cut the entire mountain for building such a wonder with precision!

No words can describe the grandeur of Ellora caves and no camera can capture its gigantic scale. Cutting a massive building out of single rock, top to bottom, that form these mountains in stone ages was impossible because even today such technology doesn't exist in...More

This was our first time visit and it's a mesmerizing experience. This place is a marvel of rock cut architecture. There are total 34 caves. You can never visit all caves on one go, so I suggest visiting only the major caves at first and...More

Must do activity while in the area. Enjoyed 3 hours wandering around. Different from Ajanta - make sure you do both if you can.

We paid ₹700, only for the main cave which is called Kailash cave. Always go for the licensed guides, they will be available near the ticket counter. Mr. Ali was the guide for us, he is a very nice gentleman.
