I went specially to see Cave no 16 - or the Kailash Temple. But nothing you have read, none of the pictures you have seen, will prepare you for the majesty that is the Kailash temple. No one needs to tell you that it was cut from the mountain. The mountain forms the perfect backdrop and speaks for itself. If... More

If you are looking for a taxi to show you around the city or take you out to the caves just call Mirza Hussain +919860367110. He and his father Taqui operate a great service. Showed up at our hotel bright and early and got us to the caves before anyone else was there. To have Ellora all to ourselves was... More

My wife Indra and I visited the world famous Ellora Caves near Aurangabad in India which highlight the architectural prowess of Indians even 1400 years ago and make you really proud as Indians. There are a number of caves which have sculptures which are fascinating. Some caves also have paintings whose color has not faded even after so many years.... More

With over 30 temples crafted by 3 religions (Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain), it's stunning beauty after stunning beauty. This place is transcendent and the biggest Hindu temple (cave 16) just blows you away with its size, details, and history. A place where different religions were accepted and you could pray together is very special. The sheer size of these caves... More

Ellora - together with Ajanta - are amazing caves, but Ellora makes it to the top of a country filled with highlights. Its caves are unbelievable and the Kailasa Temple (cave #16) is the summit of it all, it is mesmerizing!

The Kailash temple is a marvel, so are many of the sculptures found in Caves 10, 12, 15, 16 and 32. A must see for art lovers.

The number of people who have no regard for the beauty or the antiquity of the place was unbelievable. I wish the ASI would be stricter with the tourists. Having said that this is a must visit place.
