We landed in Bikaner later than expected and were exhausted after the journey hence set out for the sightseeing slightly late. We used google directions to reach the place which took us thru very narrow and congested lanes. With the help of locals we were able to reach the place around 7:10 pm and the entrance door was closed. There... More

Located in the old city of Bikaner, the Jain temple is known for its exquisitely carved & colourful interiors. Just near the Laxmi temple, this temple is very popular with tourists. Though the interiors were being painted during the time of our visit, the temple was kept open for visitors !

Through the busy narrow lanes of Bikaner I saw this beautiful Jain temple. Getting to the temple in itself was a great challenge because of the narrow lanes. It's said the base of the temple is made of pure ghee, can't vouch for that but can definitely vouch for the beautiful paintings carved on the wall and ceiling of the... More

As per stories 40000 kg pure Ghee was put in the base of temple as a symbol of purity. As per legends ,the floor of temple becomes oilish in May June(when temperature is very high) The temple is... An amazing place to visit! The decorations are said to have been made with ghee and the interior glimmers magically. The priest talked to us about both the temple and himself - very warm and welcoming. A gem.

The temple from outside is nothing extra-ordinary. But when you will enter into the temple you will simply be mesmerised with the intricate art. Perhaps this is the only Jain temple of Rajasthan where painting instead of sculpture takes an important role.

It's a well maintained & clean temple with beautiful sculptures and paintings inside the premises. It's an ancient Jain Temple of Bhama Shah time. Pandit ji (Priest) there is an interesting man knowing almost 8-10 languages. Foreigners can try to speak in their language with the priest & can know more about the history of the temple. He'll give you... More
