Our cooking session at Spice Paradise with Rekha was one of the highlights of our trip to India. Along with her husband, Anil, they were so generous with their time and knowledge and made us feel incredibly welcome and her food is beyond amazing. She covered how to make chai, biriyani, malai kofta, naan & chapattis and the most incredible... More

Unfortunately we didn't know this place was here until an hour or so before our train left, but we popped in anyway. We were welcomed by the most lovely couple and even though we did not have time for a cooking class we were welcomed with open arms. We were very kindly given a quick demonstration of how to make... Such a pleasant surprise. Such pure simplicity. Expecting a tourist style, colorless event we received anything but. Our cooking class resulted in being more like a meeting of two so different and yet somehow so familiar cultures than a structured lesson of how to make this and that. I'm sure Reeka normally runs a controlled and informative class - but... More

This is a very nice spice shop with lots of spices but we went there with guide so the prices were very high so just go alone and get good prices.

We stumbled upon Spice Paradise while walking towards the market. We'd talked previously about doing a cooking class, so we decided to give it a try. I went in expecting a regular cooking class, something formulaic where you learn a couple dishes and that's it. Little did we know we'd have the greatest time ever! Rekha, who runs the course,... My story for this place starts the nite before. I was out looking for bottled water but everything was closed. As I walked along this couple came riding up on a motorbike and I asked them If there was anywhere I could get bottled water at this time of night as I was needing it. They obliged by opening their... More

This time I went to the Spice Paradise for a cooking class with 9 women. We had once again a great time with Reekha our host and she created out of the blue to more dishes because we asked about it. We had wonderfully sweet Ladoos and stuffed Lady Fingers (Okra).
