The place is best for family, a problem I faced is parking. The next is surrounding cleanliness, it has to be well maintained. The roads need to be windened.

This place is nice for kids and adults both. Parking can be challenging on weekends but once you overcome the chaos outside and get inside, you are spellbound by the beautiful lakes, 100s of boats filled with eager tourists. There are many other attractions like horse riding, toy train, rides for kids. The lawns are manicured and well maintained. Must... More

Ooty Lake is an artificial Lake created by John Sullivan, the then Collector of Coimbatore in 1824. It was mainly used for fishing at that time. With boating facilities and children's park, This is the most sought after Tourists spot in Ooty! But Ooty Lake water is the most contaminated water in entire Tamilnadu! (resubmitted from my drafts)

This lake is not made up of natural water. It's kind of accumulation of drainage as well. In terms of boating they have 8 or 0 seater so if you are couple either you will have to search for another team of people who might need you as well for motor boat else go with pedel boats. Pykara lake boating... More

Public buses are available from main bus stand and it took only 5-10minutes. I took 1 hour boating ride and here I found boating is quite expensive than Kodaikanal lake. Although Kodai lake is much bigger with an excellent view. I spend around 3-4 hours here on lake park, it was good. I saw some other play activity also available... More

This place was extemely crowded, be there by 5 pm to get tickets for boating. Boating tickets are offered for 8, 10 and 15 seaters. You can combine with other tourists to buy tickets and later on share the money. 8 seater will really be crowded. You can instead get tickets for 10 or 15 seater. Speed boat facility is... More

It's a bazaar- overcrowded, traffic is a mess and it simply doesn't make sense to spend your hard earned holiday on visiting this site. You take away the crowd and it is a real nice place to be in- but not with the crowd.

For a first time visitor to Ooty, a visit and boat ride in Ooty Lake is good idea.I think a walk to the lake from Charring Cross is good too. Avoid Sundays and holidays. Return by Taxi or auto. Three other lakes are absolutely divine - Emerald, Avalance and Upper Bhavani. Dont miss. Pykara lake if you are approaching Ooty... More
