Do not miss out on the ceremonies

Make sure you catch the ceremonies that go on here every night around 6-6.30. You can pay to go up which is a small cost for a much better view. Defiantly a must see in Varanasi!

I went to visit the ghat at the time of the Arti. It was wonderful. so methodological. There are two offerings at this ghat. One is having 7 saints / pujaris and the other one has 5. It was a unique experience. The offering or arti is for about an hour and is performed daily. The whole place is lit... More

This is the ghat where every evening the Ganga Aarti ceremony takes place to honour the deceased ones and to workship one or more hindu deities. It is a difficult-to-undestand celebration, yet the music, prays and traditions - the whole situation! - are worth being witnessed.

Hey folks, I had been to this ghat for watching the Maa Ganga Aarti. We were staying near Guru chowk and took a walk for just 2.5 kms to reach there. This place is also near to the Varanasi railway station - around 3-4 kms. You need to reach just before the sunset to get a good free seat to... More
