I have seen rice paddy fields before, but not like this. Lush, beautiful, green, several levels and great walking/hiking. Just a beautiful sight to take in. Yes the kids selling postcards for "schoooooool" are a bit annoying, but hey, tourism is the business in Bali and they are just trying to hustle up some cash like anyone else. If you... More

We went to the Tegallalang Rice terraces on scooter on small roads. Don't take the main road! Go early in the morning. We ended up in the terraces at the far end, away from the busy road, but if you travel by the main road, go past the first terraces 500m and turn right on the first road. Drive for... More

I think this is a must see stop when in Bali. Though touristy, the rice terraces are every bit as epic as they look in pictures. It is possible to go on your own, but i think the farmers will charge less, if you have a guide, unless you can speak Bahasa. It doesnt take too long to walk around... More

Fantastic view. Fresh air but need special care with young kids because it can be slippery going down and up.

If you cannot go to Jatiluwah, this would be a good spot to look at rice terraces. Otherwise, it cannot be compared to the other. Very commercialized as the place is full of toursits, cafes with expensive drinks and gelatos, & souvenir stalls. I managed to buy a two-face, double size patchwork blanket here at a good price.

It was a normal rice terrace plantation visitation for us. Everything was ok except for the weather. It was just too hot when we were there.

It's a great Background for a Picture. The place itself is smaller than I expected and very touristic. Its probably best to go early in the morning. If you stay at the terasses and restaurants at the edge above it you dont need to be sportiv but walking/climbing down especially when it rained a bit can be tricky but was fun... More

I went early in the morning (7:30am) and had the most lovely visit. This is a great time to beat the crowds. A local farmer showed me around, with no expectation of payment. Definitely worth a visit.

As we drove to this place, the driver stopped as someone asked for 10,000 rupiah each to get to the place and he gave us a ticket for a 'pass'. When we got there, no one asked to see our tickets as it's a free place to roam around! It's not a lot they asked for but it's the principle.... More
