The children and young Balinese performing dance and playing gamelan were so compelling within the magical setting of lotus ponds and oil lamps. Enthralling. A generous sharing of tradition with tourists.

These traditional Balinese dances were performed in the beautiful setting of the Water Gardens of Ubud Palace.
There was a large orchestra of traditional instruments, most of which looked like xylophones!
The dancers performed a variety of dances & what we liked most was the wonderul facial expressions which were part of the dance!
The music was very repetitive & rather soporific but the show was well worth seeing.

This is one of a few traditional Balinese performances including a gamelan orchestra. This one is performed by young adults and is just lovely. Everyone should attend one of these performances. Tickets are sold in the late afternoon, early evening all along the main street of Ubud.
