Very typical!

To understand the story of the batik, this is the best place to come. Unbelievable how they do this work, and how they have their history on this nice work. I recommend.

The collection is very nice and somehow a bit cheaper then jakarta. The place is huge along with a cafe. Did not get a chance to see the museum because we reached a bit late. Bought some nice batiks. Will be back again for sure

We can learn a lot about batik in this museum. Also step by step process of making batik. And how the batik motive are influenced by other country like Netherland and Chinesse. We are so proud to be Indonesian by seeing how various batik are. We cannot take picture in the museum. They also have restaurant in this site.

This is a very nice, very large guided museum, i.e. you get a very knowledgeable tour guide who takes you personally through the extensive collections. This is really nice. Exhibits are very good, great large rooms, good aircon; all quite palatial. I appreciate Batik and learned a lot. All the more disappointing is that the shop actually does not sell... More

The museum is privately owned but very interesting how batik can tell so much history. This museum opens my mind and my understand (and taste) about batik in general. Making a good quality batik takes 2 weeks of 9hours a day just to draw on the cloth, and a few more steps to dip it in different colors. No wonder... More

A visit to museum Danar Hadi in Solo definitely was pleasant. You get to learn about a wide range of batik collection that the owner has (at least 1K from the 11K+ collection) and also get to try how to do Batik. The good thing, they have the tour around the museum which time can be adjusted to our available... More

This is a fantastic collection of Batik artifacts from the past, and allows one to appreciate how rich and complex the Batik tradition is here in Indonesia. Dutch colonists and great families all have unique patterns (some quite surreal, like the "Little red riding hood one") that date back centuries in some cases. The furniture is also amazing, and the... More
