On the main thoroughfare in Solo/Surakarta you will find this quaint museum. It's worthwhile to spend a hour or so looking at various artifacts and weapons. It's a relatively small and reasonable well maintained museum. I enjoyed seeing this place.

They have many kind collection of puppets, arcas of Hindu's & Buddha's goddess, keris (Java weapon), porcelain, batik, and many more. This museum is free for enter. But i think, it's okay when the visitor must pay as a maintenance costs.

These include an extensive weapons collection, a sculpture yard, money, wayang (shadow puppets), ceremonial masks from Bali, and instruments. Unfortunately, the museum wasn't well annotated with English descriptions, so it wasn't always clear...More
