It was educational, informative and entertaining. Looking at the writings inside the submarine, most likely it was a Russian-made submarine. All the rooms were air-conned. No need to worry about being hot inside the submarine when visiting at midday. There was a kiddy swimming pool behind the submarine, and a few vendors were selling snacks and drinks. Next to the... My father used to be a Navy. Now he's retired. This is why we so excited to come and see the Monkasel. Monumen Kapal Selam, Indonesian word for Submarine Monument. This is exactly a real submarine wishkey class from russia/U.S.S.R made during 50's. Served into Indonesia Navy as KRI Pasoepati with #410 number on its hatch. Wow, it's amazing to... More

We went there on Thursday, rainy day, the pool was closed and not many people visiting. First we came to a liitle room near the pool area to watched the history of the museum and war around 20 minutes. Then we went inside the submarine. Not much too see, but still good to learn history and see how was life... More

This is part of Indonesian Naval Development history, with focus on the submarine use in their struggle for independence from the Dutch. Every hour the is also a documentary shown in their viewing room next to the submarine. The sub is mounted on the ground with most of its interior intact. The small fee of 10 thousand rupiah for entry... More

The submarine is a great place to visit with kids. It costs 10,000 Rupiah (less than one US dollar). You can touch EVERYTHING in it. You can even open one of the floor hatches to see the underbelly...although there isn't much to see down there. My son enjoyed it so much he asked to walk through it a second time.... More

Excellent way to waste some time, and for only 10,000 rupiahs it can't be bad. We had just arrived by train, and were walking to our hotel when we stumbled across this whiskey class sub! It's literally just over the river from the station. 5min walk tops. Inside the sub seems untouched and full of russian dials and instruments. There... More

This is my first experience exploring WW2 Submarine. The entrance fee is cheap, only Rp 10.000/ person. This museum is near Gubeng station, so you can spend your transit time in here. Inside this submarine, we can see the operation room and the submarine bomb (wow). There is any explanation for each room so you can read about it. To... More

Being my first experience inside a WW2 submarine, it was awesome. At an entrance fee of RP10,000 per head (USD1), well worth it. They have installed air-conditioners inside the submarines, so you won't suffer like the old sailors did.
