We Stayed at scallywags, and I must say, I’m surprised how far away the villa was from the beach. Other than that, super nice. The food at scallywags was very satisfying, but not gourmet and it is definitely family-food. The only thing I absolutely HATED...More
As titled, there was literally nothing on this island bar a few small, overpriced shops and places to eat. (Wouldn’t stretch to calling them restaurants more just cafes). Just wouldn’t recommend this island for any type of traveller.
However my friend went diving (very expensive...More
Lovely island, a lot quieter than Gili T, smaller than Gili Meno, but pretty busy for its size. We found great restaurants with great beach access and private frontage (Scallywags being an excellent choice). Getting a private and quiet spot is difficult, but at such...More

Unfortunately Gili Air was not the peaceful, natural, tropical island paradise we were expecting. It was probably nice a few years ago but now there is far too much development and construction everywhere you look. The coral is dead and you need sea shoes to...More
Currently been on Gili Air for 3 days. Anyone saying this place is “unspoiled” is downright lying - rubble and garbage EVERYWHERE - concrete, wood, plastic, dried up seaweed, broken coral, be it on beaches, in empty lots or on the side of the road....More

I got Wahanna ferries which was the absolute worst! They say they are direct and takes 1.5 hrs when in fact it goes via Gili T and stops at Lombok where you have to swap boats to a smaller one....takes about 3.5hrs. I've heard Blue Water is quite good with loads of trips! Definelty search around and try and get a direct one.
