The history of Megiddo goes back to at least the 15th Century BC. This area was the crossroads between Egypt and Mesopotamia. Megiddo is the location in Revelations where the battle of armageddon will take place. There is much to see and ponder here.

I very much enjoyed our tour through this park. Our guide was excellent. Learning about how a "Tel" is formed was really interesting. Another example of the amazing land that Israel is.

Large and magnificent. Most parts accessible to ADA people exception is a deep water cistern. Says a lot about history and how different civilizations can build on each other.

Short (1.5 hours) but interesting. Good path with written information. Wonderful views from top. Amazing the descent to shaft and the walking in the tunnel, once used to get water from spring. On the walking path, plenty of fresh water from clean taps.

A little hike up to the overlook where you can see for miles and miles. A strategic site for historical traders and travelers coming from Africa to Europe and Asia. Wear comfortable walking shoes and cool clothing.

Megiddo is easily accessable from both Tel Aviv and Haifa. There is no problem whatsoever to visit it alone, if you go to the museam first, and get a right impression what you are going to sea further. This done, you may... More

No guides, but many people come here as part of a group tour. Perhaps contact one of the Tour companies to see if you can tag along.
