Curieuse Island lies 30 min boat ride from Praslin. There are over 300 giant tortoises living there in the wild. This is an amazing, unforgettable day trip that can be organized in one of the 3 ways: - charter a bareboat, sail over and moore in the SE bay practically right in front of the entrance to the tortoise sanctuary;... This Island is one of the most wonderful places I have ever been to. We stayed in the bay right outside for five nights on our katamaranboat. The kids took the kajak in to land and visited the hundreds of gigantic turtle that lived there. It is a protection area for this animal and they are well taken care of.... More

Take a boat from the beach, usually the locals offer 3 island deal for the day: Cousin, Curieuse and St Pierre. You go first to Cousin and walk through it with a guide, watch for the mosquito plethora! Then you go have lunch in Curieuse, and finally you go snorkeling at St Pierre.

You should be in shape for the walk over the island, but the views are worth it. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. The tortoises are much larger than they appear in pictures and are not at all afraid of people. In fact, they will follow you, knocking over benches, if you have food in your... More

We loved our trip to Curieuse, it was nice to be able to walk by ourselves across the island and it had terrific views all the way along. The tortoises are very used to people, so maybe bring them some leaves to eat and they'll be very happy! Make sure you take some time to explore the lovely beaches too.... More

We came over from Praslin. The turtles were amazing. Friendly. Love leaves. You could pet them. So big ! We just fell in love with these animals. Also tons of crabs etc to see. We hiked past the doctors house onto a beautiful stretch of beach. We had a BBQ as well. Nice island for a day trip.
