The New York State Capitol has served as the seat of government for New York since the 1880's. Over 125 years old, the building is a marvel of late 19th-century architectural grandeur. Built by hand of solid masonry, it took 5 architects and 32 years to complete. Over the years meticulous restoration has been done to maintain and protect the Capitol for future generations of New Yorkers.

Absolutely beautiful building. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour given by Hal. Group was large but he managed well. So many eye-catching areas from Senate elevator to stone carvings, gold walls and the staircase. Spend some time in hall of governors.

The capital building here is beautiful and massive in size! It's one of the oldest in the US and one of the largest in stature. It's a must see if you like old architecture.

The architecture is worth it alone, quite ornate and nice. There is plenty of history in the building and some nice art.

Was at a clean water action event outside this gorgeous structure during the winter last year. Worth a visit.
