I regularly visit the museum on the first Friday of the month for storytelling by some very good seanachaie. But there are other programs offered at times like thev3 hour workshop on NY first Irish governor-Martin H. Glynn. I frequently check the website to find out what's happening like the annual Irish Soda Bread Competition. There is a nice little... More

There are only one or two exhibits here but the host was very friendly and helpful. The exhibits were on Saratoga and the Women of the Rising - women who were somehow involved in the 1916 Easter Uprising in Dublin. It was an hour - no more.

Wanted to visit on a Sunday after a wedding and hours stated were 12noon to 4pm. Went at 1pm, but it was not open, returned later to find still not open. Very disappointed!

This is a very welcoming, small museum with interesting posters and displays on Irish history. It has a nice selection of gift shop items. They also offer Irish movies (with that great Irish humor) and musical events and talks. It's a worthwhile museum to check out.

During our stay in Albany, we took a quick detour into The Irish American Heritage Museum. Fantastic artwork, rich with Irish history, and a beautiful selection of Irish jewelry for sale at very reasonable prices. We were glad we stopped by.

The Irish American Heritage Museum is especially appealing the week before St. Patrick's Day when I visited. They have a very interesting art collection of Michael Augustine Power O"Malley through March 2nd, along with a very fascinating research library with some great picture books of Ireland. Will attend a lecture tonight on Irish Genealogy 101 which should be very enlightening... More

I'm a fan of Irish and irish American History. This small storefront museum was a disppointment. While they had some interesting old local photos and history, there wasn't much to it. With the rich history of Irosh Americans in New York, I ecpected more.

The exhibit was about the Irish and Irish-Americans who fought on both sides of the American Civil War. Very interesting to learn of the different regiments from both sides and where they fought. The exhibits do change occasionally to keep it fresh if you are able to return. The library has some excellent resources.
