Introduction Gimnyeong Maze Park (김녕미로공원) is located between the two major tourist destinations of Manjanggul Cave and Gimnyeongsagul Cave. It was designed by the world famous company Adrian Fisher Minotaur Maze Designs and funded by the life-time savings of an American Professor at Cheju National University, Frederic H. Dustin, whose love for Jeju has kept him on the island for 27 years. This unique maze park contains foliages from all over Asia and has been personally maintained by Dr Dunstan since 1987. Gimnyeong Maze Park contains a maze that has seven images incorporated in it. The maze is in the shape of the Jeju Island, and its images that can be clearly seen from above include the following: a serpent, which was an object of worship on the island until the mid-70s; native horses of Jeju Island, which were brought there by Mongolians as far back as 1276; the ship, the Sparrowhawk, that was shipwrecked on the island in 1653 bringing Hendrick Hamel and his company of Dutch sailors to the Joseon Kingdom; and dolmens that are relics from the Bronze Age. All of these images are famous symbols or landmarks of Jeju Island. There are three skywalks called ‘gureum dari’ and an observatory, which are popular photo sites for tourists. They offer panoramic views of the entire maze. There are four ways to get through the maze from the entrance. If you use a map, it will take only 5 minutes, but without a map it’s a bit more difficult and can take up to 20 minutes. Some visitors have been known to spend up to 50 minutes lost in the maze before giving up and calling for help!

After my Manjanggul Cave "expedition" and since the park is just along the way back, I took the chance to see what's the place could offer. I paid KW 2800 for an entrance (I have read reviews that some paid more than the cost, maybe the cost vary by seasons, not really sure). The maze can be finished roughly 10-15... More

My friends and I found the maze boring...Not challenging enough for adult. Nonetheless, a group of children who happens to be there seems to be enjoying themselves.

Driving here was a breeze. Entrance fees: Adt @ 3,3000w. This place is great for young adventurous ones. More popular among the locals though. It is not as simple as it seems. Get the brochure and collect stamps! Split into groups if you have more people, and it would be much more fun. This place will also really test your... More

We loved it but it was super hot, more suitable for fall winter and spring. I don't advice it in the summer. Visited in Summer of 2015

There are 3 different mazes you'll get to go through. It's tricky and fun at the same time. Once you've solved the last one, take time to go to the top of the main building and see the vista from there! At the end of the maze, you might need refreshment so there are drinks and ice cream available! Definitely... More

I went in without expecting much but the small maze is deceptively difficult. Clever design makes it a true maze unless you use the map. Also as a bonus, there are a ton of cats here so if you're a cat lover you're in luck.

Lol went here with my friends and we both got lost in the maze 😂 Very interesting place to explore! We were given a map and tried the route a few times before my friend and I make a decision (worse thing ever) to separate ourselves going in from the entrance and one from e exit and meeting each other... This is located in the eastern part of Jeju Island. Taxi fare is around 30KRW one way. The place is well maintained and lots of Cats running around the park.

There are 3 levels for the visitors to try. The first one is the easiest before you are engaged in a more challenging maze. It is fun if you have 2 groups of children/ people visiting this place. Not only that they can help their group members to find their way, the competition between the 2 groups makes it more... More
