We paid a visit and although slightly out of season we had a great time wandering around the grounds, which were well kept and the staff were friendly and polite. I would recommend taking your moscito repellant as they also love the gardens.

I have been staying in both Geoffrey Bawas summer estate at Bentota and his Colombo city residence Number 11 as paying guest. Since then I have the highest esteem for the management of the Geoffrey Bawa Foundation. They succeed in keeping a legend alive. By...More

The gardens themselves are beautiful and well-worth seeing but I hope the trust considers ways to inject some much-needed life into this beautiful enclave. I was however disappointed by the demeanour of the staff. Our driver, a local Sri Lankan was not permitted to join...More

We missed Lunuganga the last time we visited Bentota - the administration can be fussy. We arrived at the appointed time and were sullenly taken to the point where the garden tour begins. Once he changed his uniform, the man was transformed - he was...More

It certainly is something which should be in the bucket list of places for those who have a passion and interest for architecture and landscaping. "Lunuganga" was really Geoffrey Bawa's retreat where he found peace and tranquility. The story goes that he found this place...More

For sure you can visit as a solo. You could also stay here cause it functions as a HOTEL and actually is more like that. Entrance fee for the visitors is 1500 rupees and be aware that they don't take cards👎🏽 in comparison... More
