I have been to various mausoleums but I somehow like this place the best compared to Vietnam and China. The place is not stressful (with military officials etc.) but there is a gentle atmosphere of respect which I find very pleasant and tastefully done. If you have the chance, yes, pls come to this place.

I really love this garden. If given more time, I guess I can just sit there the whole day. If you are keen on history and wants to know the late President more, this is the place to go.

Even though it is a mausoleum, it is more like a nice and tranquil park. There is a beautiful lake featuring some very beautiful swans. There is also the changing of the guards ceremony every hour on the hour that is worth videotaping. Overall, it is a good place to visit.

Can't say I'm a historical buff but it was very strange and moving to enter the mausoleum of CKS and to learn about his yearning for his hometown back in China, and how this very lake and surrounding forest reminded him of that place. I mean wow, this is THE Chiang Kai Shek. The atmosphere was very hush hush and... More

In good weather, it is worth a 3-hour walk in the morning to enjoy the park that also house the Mausoleum (at the exit of the one-way trail).

The grounds is very well designed and maintained. The mausoleum is smaller than what I expected. Considering the unassuming residence Chiang and his wife lived, it should not be a surprise that the Mausoleum is similarly low key and unassuming... a reflection of the person himself.

Both 台湾好行慈湖线(from zhongli station) and小乌来线(from taoyuan station) stop here. A calm lake surrounded by statues of some great respected men in assorted sizes. Even for those like me who are not into history, it is still very pleasant to stroll around the lake and take pictures. Within walking distance is the 大溪花海and the love story building

We went there around late afternoon. Very quiet place. No crowd at all. The kids just ran here and there. Dont think will visit again.
