This Park is a good start for a safari in Tanzania. It is a very nice Park with luxuriant environment, very green, which you can visit in a day. There are several lakes with an incredible number of flamingos: the contrast of colours is superb! Definitively, it is worth the visit

I added this day trip to our itinerary as we had a free day and I am so glad we did. We saw animals that we did not see elsewhere such as the Colobus monkey and thousands of flamingos. It is well worth adding this national park to your trip.

Althought there are no felines in this park, nevertheless the visit was quite enjoiable. We had the occasion to see giraffs, babboons, close encounters with the buffalos, and thousands of flamencos. Nice picture opportunities and nice walk in the park with a ranger, rifled more for folklore than for real dange, but getting really close to the buffalo herd was... More

This day trip filled a day prior to my Mt. Kilimanjaro climb with Thomson Safaris. Really focused on the coming climb, I expected this to be kind of a "filler" event, and never expected it to be so enjoyable. In reality, it turned out to be so memorable. My Thomson guide and driver for the day was a kind, knowledgeable,... More

This is a lovely national park, which makes an excellent introduction to Tanzanian wildlife. Easily accessible from Arusha, it makes a fine day trip. A noteworthy rarity here is the Black and White Colobus Monkey, which you will not see in Ngorongoro or Serengeti.

My wife and I and our oldest daughter spent one very full day exploring Arusha National Park in a Toyota Land Cruiser with an expert driver/guide/natualist. We loved it: easy access from Arusha, no crowds, plenty of wildlife, friendly rangers--and Mt. Meru as a backdrop. At the midway point our driver/guide hooked us up with an armed park ranger who... We did a day safari in Arusha National Park on our way to Tarangire. It was a wonderful introduction to what we would be experiencing over the next 7 days. We started with a boat safari on Small Momello Lake where we were fortunate to share the lake with 2 groups of hippos, then onto Big Momello where we were... More
