Boy this treck/slight climb is definitely for the determined and you do need to be fit. Three of us started climbing at 12 midnight and were up at the top at 5:30am. Got to see the lava clowing red and huddled together as it started...More

Oldonyo Lengai is the active mountain with 2278 meters above the sea level. The trekking of Oldonyo Lengai is always at night due to the fact that during the day is very hot to make it. It takes six hours to get at the top...More

Completely agree with AB’s review - although our family (2 adults + 16; 15; 11 year olds, all scouts / young leaders and very active) will talk positively of the experience as one of those “once in a lifetime” things we did together. Going up...More

The night climb was harder than we expected. By far the most difficult and dangerous thing we had done. It starts smoothly in sandy ground surrounded by tall grass. As you reach the lower slopes, vegetation becomes scarce to nonexistent and the inclination reaches 30°...More

Not a good idea to climb this mountain with children, even if they are teenagers. Parents need all their energy for their own climb. Because it is a steep climb, not a walk like the Kili. Bring a dust mask, because it is extremely dusty,...More

Very unique location. The mountain of God with the pink lake Natron close by, the surroundings look out of this world.

This was an experience we will never forget! Climb throughout the night, sunrise on the summit and tough downhill hike - definitely not for everyone. At the same time we are not the hyper sporty once. (We do regular sports twice a week to give...More

I am scared of heights, so not sure why I had decided to do this with my friends... Beast of a mountain. Very steep and challenging. I personally did not summit, but even from where I managed to get to the views were fantastic!
