Beautiful area of Thailand for the lush vegetation and the colorful flowers, not far away from the city of Suratthani connected by Train, Bus or Plane to Bangkok (but to visit the park I suggest to rent a car), a bit rainy so the best season to go is the dry one (March/April/may) since the area stay on the mountain... By far the highlight of my trip to Thailand was Khoa Sok National Park. It was breathtaking with towering limestone cliffs and turquoise lake water. Trips with a guide can be booked through hotels ( we booked ours through our Jungle House) options include boat day trips, stays on a rafthouse overnight on Chiaw Lan lake and safaris and trekking.... At first I was not planning to visit this place, however, one girl at reception of Warm White hostel did suggest me to get here and so I did. Packed up my stuff and up I go to another adventure. And boy oh boy was I amazed by the beauty of the place! I couldn't believe my eyes that this... More

Isolated but worthwhile if you are wanting to see a more traditional Thailand. Watch out for the humidity and bring bug spray!

It is amazing jungle, the oldest in the world. Wild natur, old trees, many different sounds from insects, birds, etc. Amazing lake with big rocks and warm wather inside. Our Jungle House is wonderfull place to stay.

Trek labeled as taking 4-8 hours on park sign took full 8 hours. Very strenuous, would recommend guide to tourists not used to advanced hikes. Definitely wear closed-toe shoes, many leeches in the middle of the day. The hike is doable without a guide if you are on a budget and I would suggest downloading a map on your phone... More

I would really recommend going on a guided trek- it is more expensive but your guide will spot creatures that you would never have seen otherwise! We went on a night trek which was exhilarating and interesting, and cost only 500B each, plus the 300B entry to the park. We also went for a walk in the daytime by ourselves... More

We really wanted do get the "jungle feel" in Thailand and this place did the job rather well. We did not pay for a guide and still enjoyed it. Unfortunately we haven't seen any monkeys or rare birds. I suggest you go early in the morning before it gets too hot.

If the word Farang describes you, then you may have never heard of this place. It isn't at any of the well known places like Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, etc. But the scenery is drop dead gorgeous and I promise you will not regret the experience!
