Not far from Hua Hin we drove out on our bikes and it was lovely with a beautiful pond behind it too that you can walk round and so peaceful. Highly recommended.

It a "Big Budda” temple or large monument. Very nice temple to visit. There is a lake where the tourist can feed the fish and can visit the beautiful flower garden surrounding the temple. Entrance is free

Wat Huay Mongkhon is located ca. 20 km west of Hua Hin. It is a monument dedicated to the memory of Luang Por Tuad, who lived from 1582 to 1682. He is a famous monk in Thailand. In front of the huge statue of the monk there is an equestrian monument for King Taksin the Great.

You don't realise how big this buddah is till you're up close. Nice drive through pineapple and rice fields.

Arranged to go here as was staying nearby. Husband was a little reserved and bemoans my love of the Thai wats staying "once you've seen one temple you've seen them all..." he agreed to come with me eventually and totally changed his tune and had to eat his words! Ha! The statue is immense - very foreboding and the grounds... More

Visited here with family and friends, it sure is a big budda. The grounds and surrounds were very clean, with lots of parking. You can buy food here and it has a mini mart. The lake is lovely and you can buy food to sit and have a picnic. This place is good for a couple of hour visit, true... More

Huay Mongkol Temple and surrounding gardens are immaculate, very well cared for. The detail on huge elephant carvings are amazing. Worth a visit if you are passing through the area.

What a fantastic place to visit, the Buddha is awesome, and huge. You can feel the peace and serenity as soon as you arrive.

Impressive monument and temples, very interesting for all ages but do remember to wear respectful attire as we turned up in shorts and felt a little uncomfortable. For 20bht you can also feed some fish in the nearby river which the kids loved, just follow the fish signs from the temple complex.
