Beware of banana-seeking giraffes!

An African-style safari zoo was an unexpected discovery in Kanchanaburi province. There were a reasonable number of animals, but they are not on large tracts of land. There are... read more

My girlfriend and I came here while in Bangkok and decided to go all out. Our experience included: the opportunity to walk a lion and a tiger (each in the 9-12 month range); play with a 9-12 month old leopard in its "playground"; feed fully grown lions (including the biggest lion "Simba"), tigers (including their biggest tiger), and leopards through... My fiance and I are huge animal lovers so we absolutely loved it here- especially because of the 3 adorable six week old tiger cubs we got to play with and feed! they were adorable and so sweet and playful, this made my trip!

Great day out, got to bottle feed Luna the Lion Cub, very special moment. Went 4 years ago and the park is definitely becoming more aware of animal welfare, standards have improved considerably. Prices have risen considerably for various packages but you can still do the basic bus tour cheaply. Recommended.

Where to start with this amazing place, myself and my partner done a 4 week volunteer programme here, helping out at the 'Big Cat Garden'... I can honestly say it was the best experience of my life, being able to work with these amazing animals and seeing them enjoy life was a pleasure... the place is getting better everyday, and... An African-style safari zoo was an unexpected discovery in Kanchanaburi province. There were a reasonable number of animals, but they are not on large tracts of land. There are also some native animals from Thailand forests. They sell baskets of bananas and vegetables to give to the animals. The giraffes are an absolute scream! They will do anything to get... The beauty of this zoo for me is it's location, Being more than 2 hours out of Bangkok meant there wasn't big crowds to have to deal with. The zoo looked to be well maintained and a great mix of local and os volunteers. There are 3-4 different packages available starting at 1500bht (from memory) which includes holding, feeding and... We visited the Safari Park Open Zoo about 1 hour before closing it and realized that there is no other tourist (only 2 of us). Despite this fact staff organized a wonderful tour for us. The bus driver patiently waited and observed if we want to continue or stay longer with some animals. The meeting with giraffes was fantastic! :)... More

We bought a premium ticket with additional giraffe program. Wasn't cheap (premium ticket THB 2500 pp + THB 1000 for the giraffe program) but worth the money if you enjoy the proximity of amazing animals. The best part was of course the possibility to feed and play with the small lion, tiger and leopards. Being with the giraffes, zebras, elephants... More
