Not the best of the national museums but definitely worth if you are interested in local archaeology. Useful information on where the things to see in Isaan are.

A nicely laid out museum with descriptions in English on most of the exhibits. A pleasant way to spent an hour and learn a little more about the local and national history. 100 Baht for foreign visitors.

Not many museums in Thailand and it's hard to understand the how's and Why's but this is a good place to start. Thai people don't get hung up on the past but it would be good if there were more history available

This is definitely worth your time if you have a few days in Khon Kaen, but you don't need more than an hour here. There are some great archeological finds here, and the descriptions are written in English/Thai.

A very well presented small museum on two floors in Khon Kaen. Not far north of the city centre, this attraction is a must see in Khon Kaen for its excellent explanations of Issan history, together with many artefacts.

A very small but enjoyable display to while away an hour. The usual 100 baht entry fee was waived in respect of the passing of the late King. Spacious grounds with a small lake.

This small regional museum was opened in 1972, and the building has the look of a library from the 1970s. But if the architecture is nothing special, this building has an extraordinary collection of art. The highlight is a magnificent collection of carved boundary stones...More

This smaller sized museum set in lovely grounds is a pleasant (and probably hot walk) from Central Khon Kaen. The information and exhibits are excellently laid out to be of interest to the casual visitor or those with a bit more specialist interest. You will...More
