We found this beach when riding scooter in the way back to AoNang, well it worth the visit, entrance fee is 200B per person to walk into the fossil beach, but the get only 100 per person that day. you can find some drinks and foods there, also few souvenir shops for hand-made seashell stuff. there was also a sandy... We found this beach whilst driving around on a moped exploring Krabi. Unfortunately the tide was in so we couldn't see a lot of the fossils. The lady on the gate did not charge us to go into the reserve. we spent some time walking around, it was such a quiet and peaceful place with lots of species of fish... More

The main part of the area where the fossils can be found has been badly damaged very recently by storms and rough seas. It has been closed to visitors, although there is a small display showing some fossil samples. There are many small shops in the area selling very reasonably priced pearls and she'll souvenirs. These are worth visiting. The... More

My friend and I rented scooters and drove around Krabi, we saw signs for this and thought it would be good. When you arrive there are a lot of shops geared towards tourists, all selling the exact same stuff. Follow them along the left down some steps. There is a roped off area that you have to pay 200 baht... More

Besides having to pay Baht 200 for entrance fee as a foreigner there is nothing much to do after viewing the the 75 million old shell fossils. The visit can be covered in less than half an hour.A word of caution.....when walking around viewing the shell fossils be careful of the slippery surfaces.Would recommend you give this place a miss... This is what fossils of 75 millions years looked like. Amazing to think how old is it. But after 15 min of it you are done. You can catch crabs if your good

Thais are known for dual pricing (tourists usually pay alot more for everything, "raka farang") but to get into this park the cost is 50 baht for Thai adults and 20 baht for Thai children - any foreigner wishng to enter will have to pay 200 baht no matter what age group. Sorry but this is unacceptable and reason enough... More

The Fossil Shell Park is essentially the grave yard of millions of gastropods and bivalves (small single shelled snails) that died due to mud covering them and which have now fossilized. Over time the fossil beds have risen to the surface due to changes in the underlying strata. There is a charge to enter the fossil beds as it is... More
