Mae Hong Son's nature is not more beautiful than the nature close to Chiang Mai. The van connection is very bad, the driver of my Avia van drove so fast in the serpentines, that I had three (!) people vomiting next to me. Also, you should better book one day in advance as the vans for almost the whole day... More

This journey is an amazing snapshot of Northern Thailand. You can do it in a few days or take many days. You can stay on the main roads or take little, or bigger, detours. You can see magnificent mountain views, explore caves, meet the various hill-tribe folk, learn about culture, nature, agriculture, take a raft, kayak or long-tailed boat on... More

If you wanna carve three or four curves at a time, and do it many many times, this is the route to take. Feels so good.

This loop is a world class bike trip. From Chiang Mai head straight to Mae Hong Son (don't stop in Pai, it's gross). We rented 300cc bikes and they were great. Don't need more than that. Had a beautifully relaxing night in MHS and then continues the next day down to Mae Sariang. A great easy drive. Then from MSR... More

I'm not really a bike enthusiast. However, after this tour I might become one. This was simply one of my best holidays. Streets are perfect, traffic almost non existent, sights all along the trip, simply but tasty and cheap food along the road, great scenery, etc.

Hi all, I have done the mae hong song loop on a Kawasaki Versys 750cc. I drove it from Bangkok to here and back. Start in chiangmai, drive to pai and go on with the loop to come back to chiangmai again. This is the best ever in my life. I specially booked this Asia trip to drive this loop... More

We took the air/con bus from Chiang Mai to Pei, Mae Hongson, Maelanoi, Maesarieng and back to Chiang Mai. We stayed at small hotels and rented a car with driver for one day in each city. A lovely two-week trip with many great memories. Much to see in each city by just walking around. Especially liked the Panorama Hotel in... More

We decided to do this trip whilst staying in Chaing Mai and rented a couple of Honda PCXS from POPS motorcycle rentals in the city. They were sporting some dropped damage but we're reasonably priced at 400 bht a day for the week and performed perfectly for the 600km journey and we had no problem regarding false damage claims. We... More
