This is a mausoleum that was built during the lifetime of Habib Bourguiba, the 1st President of Tunisia. He is the man who spread free education to all, built Hospitals and schools, dams and roads.... All members of his family (brothers and ssters) are buried...More

This was within walking distance from our hotel and worth being out in the heat. Very ornate. Look up the history before you go, unless you can read Arabic.

interesting museum about a famous tunisian president who transformed Tunisia into the equal country it is today. More rights for women etc etc...

Short visit is enough but still worth of it. This building were heart of the city. We took some really nice pictures here ;)

With all the beaches and resorts, it was hard for me to associate Monastir with a graveyard. Well, it is still worth a visit because the surrounding area has beautiful architecture. It would be interesting if you are into history of Tunisia, to know something...More
