One of the best maintained amphitheaters I ever saw. A must see of the region, imposing, and you will get breath taking views from the top not only of this specific spot, also the sea and the traditional surroundings!

This amphitheatre took my breath away. It is so well preserved I was amazed. The views from the top were awesome. You could see the sea and surrounding beach area. Lots of other ruins surrounded the place. Well worth a visit.

It was cheap to go in, and we were very pleased that we did. You have access to most areas, e.g. you can sit in the tiers and walk down the isles to the stage at the bottom. You get a great idea of what...More

We visited this site last year and again this visit. It’s amazing but also quite sad to see that this ancient monument is decaying away with no protection. People are able to clamber all over the ancient ruins . I guess there are no funds...More

This theater considering it's age is in relatively good shape. I have attended a concert in it years ago and the acoustics are very good. Walking around it does not need a lot of imagination to think what it must have been like in it's...More

We walked here from our hotel, had a lovely day walking around. Suitable for a family day out or even alone, a lot to learn here. The only down fall was it was quite crowded and difficult to take photographs with the long waiting queues.

We were unsure about paying since everything else in Side is free. It’s just there! But 30TL per head (less than 5GBP) is nothing for what awaits you inside. The largest Amphitheatre in Asia Minor does not disappoint. Unique in being built with no or...More

It’s not as grand as Aspendos, or as steep as Hierapolis, but it’s one of the oldest theatres in Turkey and very accessible! Included in the Museum Card

Hi, not sure about Hotels in the area but if you use Tripadvisor and add filters it’s very good at finding just what you need. The whole area around the amphitheater has restaurants within a five min walk in any direction... More

They would always be open, as they are all clearly seen by the side of the road, just walking along the footpaths will bring you to all of the ruins, there are no entry points. Its a lovely walk on the beach path, then when... More
