Worth the walk up from the Dolmus drop off point by the main mosque. Only takes about 15 minutes. Views over Fethiye are amazing and great to be able to go right inside this ancient tomb which you cannot do with those on Dalyan.

If you can manage the walk up to the tombs it is worth it. Once you get up there , if you like you can pay a small fee and walk up lots of lovely steps yo Aminatus' Tomb . This sits up high in the rocks staring into Fethiye bay. It is lit up at night. There are several... More

Although most people see the house tombs on trhe hillside, Fethiye akso has several sarcophagi scattered around the town. There is also a rock-cut tomb behind the castle with a Lycian inscription. One of the best-preserved Lycian sarcophagi stands near the munivcipal building.

My daughter and our adopted Australian daughter visited the tombs last year, its is awesome to be allowed so close to something so old, in some ways it is a pity that people have scratched names etc on the stone but it is still pretty cool. You also get a great view of Fethiye. The climb is not hard but... More

We did pay the small admission fee to climb up to the larger of the tombs so we could look inside. The view from the tomb is amazing and well worth the climb up. The whole series of carved tombs is pretty much visible from the street below and and a reasonable walk from Fethiye's waterfront. I highly recommend it... More

A number of Lycian rock tombs are situated above Fethiye, obviously they were broken open thousands of years ago I would guess probably during the Roman period. They are interesting to see and as they are situated above Fethiye you also have a good panoramic view of the town from here.

Ancient tombs cut into the hillsides. We saw them from our yacht and then explored. Totally uncommercialised and original. It is as if you are discovering these sites for the very first time. Amazing.
