Interesting to see

Very cheap and provides some interesting history about the area and the city...Good way to spend an hour or so - especially on a rainy spring day!

We payed 5 lira per person and that is a good price for what we got. In the basement are archaeological relicts with information in Turkish and English. Unfortunately there isn't much information about the rooms in the ground floor and in the second floor. A guide explained us the history of the building but I would love to have... More

To be honest, the house was the real treat for me. It is in really original condition and you can imagine it both in its family and girls' school iterations. Great for a wet day and a welcome escape on a hot one!

This time last year I had just finished an amazing tour of Trabzon, Istanbul and surroundings. I had no idea what of what to expect when our wonderful travel agent Yalcin from Kaletour in Istanbul had organised our holiday. I cant remember all the names of places we visited, but i can assure you everything is worth seeking. Museums, churches,... More

The mansion housing the museum in a splendid place and deserves the visit in its own right. The ethnographic part is plain weird (outdated coffin shaped showcases with very little info on the artifacts - half of which have limited ethnographic value - let alone without explanations). The archeological part (located in the basement, you kinda feel you're going in... More

The basement display definitely made this museum worth a visit. The entrance fee is only 5 lira, a must see directly in the center of the city. The whole place seems overdue for clean and refresh however.

A great place for archeology enthusiasts. This museum packs one of the most accurate description and proofs of the Paleolithic, Neolithic and Bronze age. While giving many artifacts about the Holy Roman Empire.

The entrance fee was quite small, so we went here after a nice walking tour of Trabzon. The day was almost oppressively hot, and it seemed hotter and stuffier in the museum. We saw the first floor and the basement, which had some interesting archeological specimens. But we became so hot and uncomfortable that we didn't visit the second floor,... More
