You can expect to learn about at this history museum because it has many displays and exhibitions on the Battle with Sweden in the 1700s that the imperial tsar Peter I fought against. It also showed the brutality of the war and the weapons that were used during that time. Location wise, it's close to wear the fountains are on... More

We went to this museum not knowing what to expect, found the museum to be very informative of the local history and part of the culture in Poltava. Never in my mind did, we think the Swiss ever had an army that came to this area in history to conquer it. The interpreter was really great about explaining all of... More

The museum located not far from Poltava city. If you take a guide who will tell you everything about Poltava battle, which was a significant event for Russian Empire and for future of Poltava city. There are some historical artifacts in the museum. There also a Church near by, monument to the Peter 1st, souvenir shops.

This museum is a short drive out from the city center, and located near a few monuments and a church. The museum has some interesting exhibits and artefacts and focuses mostly on the battle with the Swedish empire. Very lovely and worth the drive.

We enjoyed the museum. We liked the presentation of artifacts, weapons, paintings, pictorials, and scenes of geography and battles. The church is also well the trip inside and you can light s candle if you like.

this is a small, local museum that does a good job outlining the history of the area going back to the stone age. Good way to kill an hour.

This as museums go is very small and doesn't take long to go around, it is ok in itself but I personally didn't find it that interesting, however the good thing was that it did have English translations beside each exhibit. Even with this I went around it in 30 minutes, I think it needs more interactive type presentations if... More

A very good museum about the Battle of Poltava 1709 - at which Peter the Great defeated Charles XII of Sweden. Extensive exhibition and guides in different languages. Well worth the visit. There are some outside signs of the famous "redoubts" but you need to give yourself time to look around at these after the inside museum tour. Most of... More
