Jebel Hafit Desert Park Resort. The place is nice but overpriced. Weekend rates can go as high as 1800 per airconditiioned tent. With no pool, no beach, no restaurant, that is too much as compared to other properties like beach camping in Bab Al Nojoum where the airconditioned tents go for 1350, good for 6 people, with a private pool and white sand beach.
If you like staring at rocks, Jebel Hafit is indeed a majestic site. But not worth this price in my opinion.

I’ve camped and hiked into Jebel Hafit many times and truly enjoy the mountain. It’s the only mountain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and one of the highest in the country. The 12 km road has over 60 turns, very well maintained and has many areas to park which also have playgrounds. There is a lookout and restaurant at the very top along with the palace and the 4 star hotel The Mercure is about 3 kilometers from the top. The Mercure Hotel is a great place to spend the night with a great restaurant next to the pool called the Eden Rock with amazing views.
At the base of the northern tip is the Green Mubazarah and oasis type green grassy areas with hot spring for both men and women (currently closed due to COVID-19. From the springs I’ve hike into the interior of the mountain following trekking signs and white dots to find my way. Fossils and quartz seams can be found if paying attention.
From the east side I’ve stayed at the Jebel Hafit Desert Park at the “bubble tent” camping grounds. From there the desert park has well marked trails that run the length of the mountain, from Oman to the south to the oasis in the north. We have hiked into the mountain from the camping grounds and found large seashell fossils all over the place. We once spotted a large Arabian fox running up the mountain, it was quite the sight!
I look forward to returning time and time again!

One of the only mountain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Jabel Hafeet Mountain Road is a great challenge for cyclists/ fitness enthusiastics to train on the route. The touristic attraction at the foot of the mountain is Green Mubazzarah and it’s easily accessible to the public.

It is a good trip for the residents over the weekend.

Great experience but quite expensive and too many mishaps for the price we paid.
100 dhs for Fire Wood. We received 6 pieces of wood that lasted all of 2 hours. Bring your own wood!
WiFi didn’t work even though it was reset and checked a number of times.
The telescope is just for show and didn’t work!
The shower overflows so be warned.
It gets quite bright in the mornings in the dome so bring an eye mask if you want a bit of a sleep in.
Don’t bring a fancy car as the road in to reception is like a dirt track with many holes and bumps!
The continental breakfast is simply a crossaint and a cupcake and some juice. Might be worth your while to bring some yogurt or fruit of your own.

We parked in Green Mubazzara and cycled the winding snaking road to the top of the fab road!

Its only 11km long but boy does it give you some good views, leg burn and a sweat on!

There are many view points to look out across Al Ain and the desert so take a breather and look!

There is a basic cafe at the very end of the road and on the way back down we stopped for lunch in the Mecure hotel. Very nice! Empty probably as its in the middle of nowhere!

This road would make an amazing drive too, as the bends are sweeping g rather than Alpe like hairpins....

Give it a go!!

Jebel Hafeet Desert Park is a newly launched campsite with outdoor sporting facilities like biking, tracking, mountain climbing, quad bike and camel riding. We stayed at the Luxury Dome Tent. Fully serviced accommodation with private shower and toilets. Accommodate up to 4 adults comfortably. Food truck offers food and drinks during the day only. Your own fireplace, open deck and telescope for your private use. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Transport to and from camp site is complimentary. Cars are parked at the facility and activity center. WiFi is complimentary. Good walking shoes, hat, bottle of water and a nice camera is perfect for discovering the amazing landscape and beautiful sunset over the mountain and amazing sunrise. Just opened for a week and the future looks bright.

The road about 12 to 15 kms if you want to go right to the top. There are 4 5 terrace stops on the way where you can stop and view the scenery. Right on top there's a restaurant but the prices are steep e.g. 3 bucks for tea etc. The top most terrace has ample parking and offers good views of al ain city. A must visit of you are in al ain.

1. The road (11.6 km) is extremely well maintained and well maintained, with proper road sign and lightning.
2. There are 4 viewing decks with proper parking lot and WC as well.
3. The highest viewing plateau has large parking lot but no cafeterias or gas station.
4. There is not even a water bottle vending machine.
5. The highest plateau has 270 deg viewing range with proper fencing.
6. The view may be nice on a clear day but we couldn’t see much as the evening was dusky.
7. Apart from Oman and UAE bird eye view the geological beauty of the hill was awesome.
8. Not only fractures/ faults/ deposition/ secondary sedimentation but different colored minerals were very fascinating to see.
9. There is a children parks, clean and well maintained.
10. Lot of plastic bottles and coke can litters were found around the area. The view was disturbing.

If you are in the area, this a lovely drive up to a Oman border post (closed). Enjoy the view. A couple of view points on the way. A snack bar/restaurant on the top, cash only. The drive take 30-60 minuts from the city of Al Ain.
