Weirdly boring. The map is just terrible and wrong or perhaps long out of date. Plenty of dead ends and backtracking. The bikes don't allow for anyone with long legs/who isn't a midget. Make sure to rent for the full hour or you won't have sufficient time and you won't make tracks unless you have separate bikes. You don't need to see the whole thing--it's one irrigation canal after another and a handful of wells and small basic mosques. Oddly great though is the Nuwa shop everyone is funneled through at the exit--incredible product packaging and aesthetic paper coffee cups and bags for the purchase. The effervescent guy who works there makes it an experience and gives plenty of free samples.

Oasenstadt Al Ain is literally an oasis in the center of the bustling city of Al Ain in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This oasis covers approximately 2962 acres of palm trees and an ancient (and still functioning!) irrigation system. The oasis is home to approximately 147,000 date palms and fruit trees. The highlight of my visit was seeing up close the date palms and them sampling some of their fruit! During a presentation a gentleman used only a rope and his feet to climb up an 80 year old palm date tree. I learned that due to changes in nature, pollination is now done manually—it is used to occur and be relied on naturally.
After sampling a couple of complimentary dates, I purchased a 1kg package of dates for 20AED. The dates were delicious; continuing to enjoy them once I returned home provided fond memories of my time in Al Ain.

We visited Al Ain Oasis as part of a tourism project for Grad school and it was a great trip. I could not believe a crack in the earth could produce all this beauty.
We were able to walk around and see the historical irrigation system and watched as the tree trimmers maintained the trees. The whole city has grown around the Oasis and the grounds give an isolated view of the natural beauty of the area and show its past.
It is something that should not be missed.

Maybe I was expecting more but the Palm oases did not quite deliver what I had hoped for. The palms are divided into quite small enclosed spaces that you are free to walk into but they are limited. The main walk is on a well made concrete path that becomes a bit of a drag. There are bikes you can hire and electric buggies that can be rented.we enjoyed our little walk but we did cut it short!

We had a little trouble finding the Oasis via Google - it is just down the road (less than 200yards) from the original home of Sheik Zayed.
We had a snack at the small Oasis restaurant before walking through the maze of stone roads/paths. They have 2 and 4 person bike rentals which looked like fun but we decided to walk.
It may have been about a 2 mile walk to get a good feel for the Oasis.

We visited over lunchtime. It was pretty quiet. We hired a 2 seater pedal cart for 30 dirham for 1 hour. A bit small for me at 6ft 1 inch.
The oasis is not huge so on reflection we could have walked around just as easily. Very clean and neat. Well explained at the West entrance.
Nice coffee shop/cafe in the middle... somewhere.
Worth a visit but 90 minutes would do it.
Next time I will pack some binoculars, glimpsed some very interesting bird life.

Strolling through the Oasis, in the Centre of Al Ain, was a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. It's free to enter and you are at liberty to wander round the large complex. However, there's very little Visitor Information which is a shame, other than in the Eco Centre. There are bikes which you can hire to explore and also a 'train' which would be ideal for those with mobility issues. It's well maintained paths make it easily accesible for pushchair and wheelchair users. Good toilet facilities.

Rent a bike, a tricycle or a quadricycle and roam around with the family among palm trees. We took many photos and the oasis ends at the palace museum . So make sure to schedule both activities sequentially

Perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. Come for a stroll, go to the back yard of the museum where you have this beautiful palm forest to stroll around and to unwind! Recommended for calming minds🙌

The Oasis is the historic core of Al Ain, and one of the oldest continuously inhabited places on the Arabian Peninsula.
It is also the flagship attraction, and to some extent the epitomy of Al Ain. It is indeed fascinating, simply by being a lush, green spot in the middle of a desert. If you visit Al Ain, a trip here is a no-brainer.
That being said, a quick visit is enough. Walking among the date palm trees is obviously nice and pleasant, it is a pretty place, and it is what defines Al Ain, but there isn't much to do there. Oh, make sure to have one of the hand-made ice cream mixes at the cafe there. Those ones are actually nice!
The Al Ain Palace Museum and the Al Ain National Museum are also located within the oasis. The National Museum was closed when we were there, though.
The Palace Museum, formerly the palace of Sheikh Zayed (the founding father of the United Arab Emirates) can be done in less than an hour. It is a cute little palace, definitely nothing extravagant. The again, it was built at a time when the place we call UAE today were some dirt poor desert kingdoms. That makes it an important part of the history of the Emirates, and a great example of how far the country has come in just a cople of decades.

Good morning! I would like to know if during the trip to reach Al Ain from Dubai is it possibile to see the desert and the sand dunes . Thank you!

Nee hoor!

hi! i will be in abu dhabi on 28th of october. i would like to visit al ain oasis, al jahili fort and qars al muwaiji. in which way can i go? i think that the best way is by taxi ( we will be four guys) because it is cheaper, is it correct? thanks a lot

In taxi va bene.
Molto brava.
Buon viaggio. N.P.
