What a delightful experience there! We had such a warm and respectful welcome. The staff is excellent, especially Mr Hamad and Ms Shamsa. Small details about the UAE culture, its dynasties, and the amazing history about Sheikh Zayed and his vision could be appreciated. The efforts and the significant labor that the archeologists have done to preserve the original structures is a marvelous opportunity to watch what the re-architeture can make.
Thank you one more time. شكرًا

Another one of those well restored earthen architecture monuments in Al Ain. Unlike to other monuments, the story of this place is less interesting, though. If you have seen the others, consider giving it a miss.

Great museum. Highly informative and beautifully thought out. The glass mixing with the straw/mud exterior is clever. It is not quite the Burrell (collection Glasgow, UK) but it does a fantastic job of representing the distinct and recent past of the UAE and its simplistic and nomadic origins.

The staff are great too.

This is the first time I have visited the Qasr Al Muwaiji and was the reason I came to Al Ain. It did not disappoint. It has been beautifully and lovingly restored. The links between it and Sheikh Zayed, Sheika Hessa and Sheikh Khalifa are very well explained. The staff are very kind, especially at reception. This is a 'must see' in Al Ain.

Well if you love to know a bit of history about UAE and especially its founder His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan this is a place to go. The recently opened for public 'Qasr al Muwaiji' located in the beautiful city of Al Ain is worth a visit. It is the palace / fort from where Sheikh Zayed ruled the place and it is where the current president Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born.

It has been looked after well and there are staff available to brief you about the history of the fort. It was interesting to see the construction of those times for the various rooms inside the fort. There are iPads available in the lounge area which gives you insights to the Al Nahyan family.

Give it a try if you like history...

Like almost all cultural places in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, this place is very well done! the Qasr (palace) is recently renovated and has a historical value (The place where the state current leader was born). But the uniqueness of the place is the contrast of old and glass walls which makes opportunities for really nice photos, also the palace has very developed audio and visual equipment. Entrance is free and reception staff is very welcoming! Totally worth it.

This is the birthplace of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa. You can learn about his family history in the modern visitor centre. Then see the fort where he spent his childhood.

This museum is built in, and preserves the fort, that is the birthplace of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. There is a large glass structure standing in the courtyard, that shows photos and stories from the life of the ruler, and you can go in the restored North East tower to see what the family's living quarters would have looked like.

We were the only two visitors in the museum, and it was great to be able to take our time and look around.

A very quite and peaceful place; just after the entrance there is a modern minimal Exhibition space with the history of today's leader of the Nation. You should also visit the towers of the castle, mainly the NW tore that was the home of the father of the Natiin: Sheikh Zayed and discover what life was like at the fort. The landscaping is also interesting, especially the allocation of palm trees that pat homage to the ad accent Al Muwaiji Oasis.
