I personally found it to be very well organized, with exhibit rooms according to various themes. Most of the artefacts in display were from Persia, which further added to my interest, once I have been studying about it. The Museum itself is a piece of art.

Extensive collections of different areas (religion, achievements of science, culture, art), including the marvellous collection of Islamic coins. The museum staff was very attentive, ready to assist, in case required. Highly recommended place to visit.

An amazing well planned well built well arranged Museum. It will remind you that Islam did not only about Jihad..Isis and Hezbollah go there. While the world was in the dark days of middle age Islam brought to the world Mathematics..astronomy... medicine and philosophy. Under the wings of its rules prospered Jews that became major donors to progress. The museum was transformed from an ancient enclosed marker to its current use in a most iniative architecture group.
Do not miss it. Its tight on the Ajman creek so exit to the creek side at sunset and walk to the old shouks. A wonderful afternoon and evening lie ahead for you

This museum is well designed, entertaining, educational and full of wonders. There are plenty of interactive reproductions of ingenious engines that showcase advances in astronomy, medicine or water management. Also art pieces and models of architectural jewels as Granada’s Alhambra or the Cordoba Mosque with its Patio de Los Naranjos. Awesome way to learn about the worldwide influence of Islamic culture in creating art and spreading science and technology through the ages with explanations available online. I was lucky to see the perfectly curated exhibition “Wonder and Inspiration Venice and the Arts of Islam”

5 out of 5; Almost next to Dubai very cheap to enter and a great museum. I am suprised why it is not much promoted by travel agencies and advertised. It is public museum probably it is the reason why it is less known.
You can spend 2-3 hours easily and learn a lot about the religion and traditions as well as history.
If you are in Dubai/Sharjah; and want to visit a museum; it is probably the best option. You can combine with Sharjah aquarium that is not far.

While staying in Dubai we visited this museum in Sharjah. It was just 20 minutes by taxi from Dubai Deira and costs 60 AED (around 15 €). Students, 60+ and some others get free entrance. Open at 10am.
It’s a long beautiful building with four long halls full of information and exhibits. Specially the hall with Islamic inventions and innovations is quite interesting. Takes 1 to 2 hours to go though all 4 halls.
