The Convent was part of our overall NCL tour of Colonia Del Sacramento. The History of this area is very well preserved and we walked for about 2hrs around the town. Roads are a mix of cobblestone and broken pavement so wear good walking shoes....More

Since the lighthouse sorta protrudes from the ruins, they can't be missed and they add on unusual look to the lighthouse.

Colonia del Sacramento was a most interesting place with excellent history in a very well maintained small town. The convent was a good example of many intersting buildings. It was safe, the people were friendly and very easy to get around.

This place was a hoot! If you visit the lighthouse, you won't miss these ruins nearby. They are fabulous fun, even on a rainy gloomy day. I recommend you set aside 5-10 seconds of your day just towards this attraction.

Located in front of the lighthouse. Original ruins of a Portuguese convent. In the center square as you enter the old town. Do stop and look at the other old building surrounding the square.

A visit here takes you to the ruins of what was a convent dating back to 1683. The walls are very thick and you can still see the foundations. A small area but you can just get a feel for what was once there.
