Big underground shopping but things are abt same price or more expensive than home (Singapore). Plenty of eating places.

Neat, sweet, plenty to eat (seems more than Osaka to me), and the underground city is big. However, I found it not as busy as expected (possibly due to my visit being in February, just before the sakura season), and I once encountered a small group of teenagers seems asking for money on the streets.

This is the first time I came to Nagoya and I was told that Sakae is the biggest shopping area in Nagoya. I knew nagoya would be less busy compared to big city like Osaka but I was a little disappointed that there is only one Adidas store in Nagoya and it was closed for renovation! Bad luck for me.

I ran into the underground shopping mall while looking for the subway entrance and was impressed. It is huge. Lots of shops and restaurants. I dropped into the Ginza Lion restaurant for a beer and ended up eating an Omu-rice lunch. Great busy place.

A lot of thing to see, nice place to shop and to dine. Not to miss the hanging pool that is literally made all with glass.

There's a lot of things to see in Sakae and this is a good place for shopping. Here are some of the places we've visited: - Nagoya TV Tower - Toyota Museum - Oasis 21 - Sunshine Sakae - Matsuzakaya - Mitsukoshi/Lachic - Nadya Park

Sakae area has many shopping malls, department stores and restaurants. Subway lines Higashiyama and Meijo stop at Sakae. Several bus services stop in the area. Many hotels are located in this region and are easily accessible from train station and airport.

We purposely chose to stay in Sakae because of the neighborhood. It’s a lively place - even if you aren’t staying there, but are looking for a place to eat - you should be able to find something to your liking. Plenty of restaurants to choose from to fit any budget. Lots of cuisines: great wings (Yamachan) and many choices... More

The Sakae station is conveniently located at the centre of a range of shops including Tokyu hands, Mitsukoshi, Komehyo, Matsusakaya, Don Quijote etc. On top of these, the underground shopping arcade is also full of surprises. This will be a great place for a cold or rainy day.
