We did this on a quick tour day hitting a whole bunch of small short things. This was definitely not a site to spend a lot of time, unless you read and understand Japanese, then the upstairs movie and exhibit will take more time. A shrine that we came across whilt walking. Worth visiting for it's architecture. One of the few places i saw with a lot of pigeons.

The main thing to see is Shibata Shrine, a very nice small Shinto shrine. There are also some statues, and ruins of the old castle walls that give you an impression of Fukui's history that was built over. A short walk from Fukui station, you can find a nice little shrine, and ruins of the old castle walls that give you an impression of Fukui's history that was built over.
