The fantastic and clever swimming pool of course, but also the quiet room open to the sky. Interesting museum shop. OK-ish restaurant. Very nice architecture. A good complement to more traditional sites in beautiful Kanazawa.

This was a highly recommended visiting spot by an architect friend and the building is indeed nice with contemporary sculptures through out the surrounding and the building itself. I, however have a bone to pick, no photography is allowed in the museum. I can understand the artwork being copyrighted work (plenty of world class mused allow NO FLASH photography), not... More

Enjoyed the place and found it very modern and different to the other traditional museums. One might find it a bit different specially the room with the open square on the roof! Number of free exhibit areas so it was nice!

The Museum is not big and does not have many exceeding artworks but, in any case, it is a good contemporary art museum. The architecture is good and some temporary exhibitions could be also good. The permanent pieces are excellent. Also the cafeteria has good quality in its menu. You cannot expect the MOMA but, fi you like art, I... More

Family of my partner brought us here whilst in town visiting. What a wonderful place for the family . Mini train rides , arts and craft , mini playground and little food trucks serving coffee , pizza and hotdogs. The only complaint is the amount of people - we didn't go in due to a massive que for atmittance tickets.... More

This museum has some famous pieces and is worth a visit in you are in Kanazawa. Compared to a similar museums around the world, this place is small and a couple of hours will do.

Japan has many great galleries all over the country. United States has Met, and MOMA in NY and fine collections in major cities only. Kanazawa 21 is known to be one of the best contemporary museums found in locals. The collections are not impressive. Special exhibits are mediocre. The surroundings and the ambience are assuredly 21st centurian- open and inclusive.

Across the garden in the middle of a green lawn stands a modern building. Not high, not too big. Very interesting temporary exhibitions, wonderful museum shop with funny stuff.

The museum staff were extremely rude, i was reminded not to touch the exhibit when I was pointing at one of the exhibit, the tone was unfriendly and rude, and I was followed by that staff till I exited the show room. I will never recommend anyone to visit the museum.

It's across the street from 兼六園 with a garden where you can find some interesting art accessories without going into the museum. The museum itself was not catching my eyes too much but the small art shops around are quite interesting.
