Really beautiful structure and well worth a visit. You have to take shoes off but there are lockers for them. Lots of steep stairs to climb but a sensational building.

Built in 1611, one of the oldest wood castles in Japan. Lots of steps to get up to the castle, lots of steep, narrow stairs climbing to the top floor. But definitely worth the climb. Terrific views from the top. The grounds are also quite...More
