First day in Chiba

A totally different way of life but so beautiful. The shrine was gorgeous even in the rain. Well worth going and having a look.

I went to this shrine with my friends from Inage Station to Chiba Station. We took a walk for about 10 minutes from Chiba Station and just followed the map until we arrived there. This is our first time went to shrine in Japan so we got a little bit carried out. We learned to pray like a Japanese (you... More

I live in Chiba City so I really know this shrine. It's mostly popular during the New Year holidays where hundreds of people go and make their New Year wishes. It has too much 'new concrete' kind of feeling and lacks the usual atmosphere expected in Shinto shrines. A much better experience for anyone in Chiba seeking a more authentic... More

I went to the Chiba Shrine for 'a prayer for the family safety'. There were some women wearing like kimonos in Chiba Shrine, and I bought a 'Omamori' and Omikuji. My Omikuji was 'Kichi' (good luck), It was so happy that I donated Yen here again. Now I am waiting a good luck...

A rebuild of the Ancient shrine, right in the heart of the city, so you can walk there from your Hotel. Naturally high on a hill, on a clear day, you can see Mt Fuji. Wonderful at Cherry Blossom time, with the grounds massed with pink flowers.

Having visited other shrines and similar places in Japan, I must say Chiba shrine is typical, and is in fact a bit smaller in area compared to other shrines. Despite that, the spot is still worth visiting while in Chiba - a 10~20-minute stay inside is quite refreshing. The entire place is peaceful and the ponds are really cute.

This is my favourite place of solace The space is limited compared to other shrine/temple but still you'll find the peace you need In order to recharge and de-stress from daily routines.
