We did a little overnight layover in Narita and decided to just stay in the area and check it out. This temple was on our list, but it was unexpectedly grand. I think we probably ended up spending at least a couple of hours here...More

Quiet and peaceful shrine, some steep steps to climb, but not too bad, beautiful pond with koi and small turtles. There was a ceremony being performed in the temple and that was interesting to watch.

Possibly one of the most magnificent temples in all of Japan, an absolute must see. We only popped here on our night in Narita before our early flight, you could easily spend a whole day here!

We walked along the street at the Japanese Heritage Village, we came across this beautiful ancient temple. Not only a place for worship, their main social project is to support for the public education, cultural and welfare foundation.

Like everyone said "IT'S FREE!" To get there from Narita Station, you may take a cab, or take a nice walk on Omotesando street with lots of restaurants and local shops selling unique gifts and crafts. The temple is huge... More
