Nice to visit to be with beauty and wonder. And there are always some events at garden inside the museum. I sometimes visit there with my 5 y/o daughter to take time in playing with. Walking distance from Mito station.

Art Tower Mito by Arata Isozaki (磯崎新) stands at a height of exactly 100 metres above the plateau, signifying the hundred years' anniversary of the Mito City. It is nothing short of amazing; yet the exceptionally starry night just exacerbated the joy of watching the Tower glow in the dark.

I was not planning to enter the gallery proper to see the exhibitions but then I saw that the current exhibition is on architecture. More than that, it is about architecture in Tōhoku following the triple disaster. “Architecture since 3/11,” does not deal with disaster-prevention architecture, in which Japan is already advanced, but rather architecture to deal with the societal... More

I visited this museum in December 2001 and was very impressed by building and artefacts. We with colleagues made several very nice photos.

This museum is a living proof that you do not need to be in on of the great metropolitan area to have curators not shy to commit with conviction and originality to contemporary art.
