The Tsukuba Expo center is located nearby to Tsukuba city center (Tsukuba station is the final station on the TX line, departing from Akihabara) and it is visible from some distance thanks to the 50m tall full scale model H2 rocket that stand on the grounds. It is a nice museum to visit with family, friends, or alone. Far less... More

Japanese are among the most developed nations in the world. They really making the Science and Technology aspect very close to their everyday life. By visiting this museum, you will impress o n how Japanese develop their technology and how they keep on improving their Technology and learning Science.

The science area which attracted children was ver well supported and because it is their 30th Expo they have exhibitions on. Space race it isn't.

A fair number of interactive science exhibits, albeit with little to nothing in the way of English explanations. Still, we managed to spend an enjoyable couple of hours here. Many of the exhibits felt like they needed to be cleaned up, fixed or modernized. Like they hadn't had much done to them since the museum opened 20 or so years... More

This is an excellent science museum and planetarium for a small city. It's a wonderful place to visit, especially on a rainy day, when many outdoor activities are not limited. We visited the Expo Centre after having visited other Tsukuba attractions such as the JAXA Space Centre, the science square etc. the Expo Centre was our least favourite attraction, despite the others being free and the Expo Centre being quite expensive if you add the prices of watching all the movies into the equation (400 yen per movie - 4...
