We had good experience on the pirate boat across the lake. They had photo opportunity to take picture with one of the staff who wear as pirate captain. That was cool. You can see the partial view of my Fuji at the beginning. Beautiful lake with the background of mountains. It was enjoyable trip.

At the bottom of the cable car you cruise on a old boat but you don't see Mount Fuji from that side so best to do it the other way and use the other embarcation where you get a view of Mount Fuji

Scenic, refreshing, good for walking and talking, date spot. We stopped for golfing on the way down, enjoyed a walk along the lakeside and made our way to the shrine. We walked on a bit further and then turned around and stopped for coffee and shopping at the prince hotel.

Beautiful scene to visit the near by towns, Mt. Fuji and the town of Hakone. If the weather is clear, you can see Mt. Fuji appear as you cruise through the Lake Ashi. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Hakone.

We got here via tour agency, we availed the Hakone, Mt Fuji 5th station, Lake Ashii cruise and ropeway to Mt Komagatake tour package. It was a wonderful experience since the tour agency took care of everything (transportation, admission tickets and included with lunch and tour guide). After our lunch, our guide asked us to get off the tour bus... More

The lake is very beautiful- it's a must go if you are in Hakone. There are boat cruises available; you can buy tickets at the venue. However, it gets a little cold on the top deck of the boats, so wear something warmish. Sometimes, if you are unlucky, though, it is foggy and you can't see anything. The boat station... More

This is a picturesque lake in a picturesque part of Japan. We travelled by so called Pirate Ship across the Lake. During the rip we had glorious views of Mt. Fuji covered in snow. Using the Hakone Pass we saw so many great places.

A beautiful lake, do take the time to travel on the boat. Kids will love the boat ride and especially during winter - the snow falling on the boat was such a wonderful experience.

Getting to Lake Ashi via a long and winding bus ride left me drained by the time we got there, however, once there, it had such a gorgeous view! We went in the fall and the trees were already a nice blend of orange, yellow, and red. I took plenty of pictures, but I have to say there's really not... More
